Categories of Care

Toddler Room (18 - 36 mths)

The Mullingar Childcare Toddler Room

The Toddler's experience at Mullingar Childcare is to learn about sharing, playing and interacting with other children. They start participating in different activities, for example listening to stories, doing Arts & Crafts, playing games & singing songs.

Through stories, children learn to appreciate language, gain new vocabulary, and learn to use new words and concepts.

By the time your child is ready to leave the Toddler Room they will have a good level of communication and will now be able to retain vast amounts of information and to formulate ideas. They will be able to form sentences as their vocabulary increases. We will now use more advanced equipment, arts and crafts and a daily schedule of activities, as much as possible.

Pre-School / Montessori (3 - 5 yrs)

Mullingar Childcare PreSchool Room

Our Pre-School / Montessori Room is where your child will first experience a more structured school environment. Your child will adapt and become used to sitting on a chair at a table and to concentrating for longer periods of time. The Montessori technique is now introduced in its most simple form.

All children develop at different speeds, so by spending more individual time at this stage, we are able to introduce the Montessori technique to your child as soon as their abilities allow.

Through the Montessori method of teaching and various other techniques, your child will grasp the fundamentals of reading, writing and mathematics. Languages, arts and crafts and social behaviour are also key areas of the curriculum.

When school time arrives in September your child will be more than ready and equipped to make a smooth transition. You will receive constant progress reports on your child and can bring home their work and activities, such as painting, on a daily basis.

Our large garden is completely enclosed for your child's safety, and comes equipped with a range of toys and equipment to give endless hours of fun.

All of our outdoor play equipment is less than one metre high so as to keep your child safe at all times.
