Our Curriculum

At Mullingar Childcare we recognise the importance of the first years in a child's life. Each of our rooms is equipped with age-appropriate equipment and toys.

From the moment your child is born,
they are learning, immediately
exploring the sights, sounds, and
textures of the world around them.

When they move into our Toddler Room, they will be ready for more advanced equipment, art and crafts and a day filled with scheduled activities. Be prepared for your fridge door to start filling up! By the time they leave the Toddler Room, your child will have a good level of communication and will now be able to retain vast amounts of information.

Our Pre-School room is structured in a way to best prepare your child for their formal education. your child will first experience a more structured 'school environment'. They will adapt and become used to sitting on a chair at a table and to concentrating for longer periods of time. The Montessori technique is now introduced in its most simple form.

We introduce all areas of The Montessori Method of Education to your child on a one-to-one basis, as well as within group activities.

The Montessori Method of Teaching is both a philosophy of child growth and a rationale for guiding such growth. The method of teaching involves the use of specialised materials in a prepared environment that encourages children to teach themselves. It develops, not only the child's intelligence, but also their physical, emotional and social abilities.

Our teachers are fully-qualified, highly-talented professionals who are committed to providing the best education for your child. Our classrooms are fully equipped with the latest Montessori materials. We also employ other teaching techniques from around the globe to enhance the Montessori Method of Teaching.

When school time arrives, your child will be more than ready and equipped to make a smooth transition from Pre-School to Primary School Education.

Cultural Pursuits

A very active cultured programme runs within the school. Regular visits to local places of interest are organised throughout the year.

Music

All the children take place in general music appreciation and singing.

Drama

All children are involved in the school annual Christmas production.

Art

All children are given the chance to express themselves and relay through art, as well as joining in class projects where new artisistic skills can be mastered.

Parents / Teachers

The atmosphere of Mullingar Childcare is open and friendly with person to person communication. Parents are free to meet with class teachers at any time during the term to discuss their children's progress or any problems that may arise.
